Amorim to Liverpool done deal, Sporting boss agrees.

The 39-year-old former Portugal international is currently in charge at Sporting, but he is ready to take on an exciting new challenge in England beginning next season. Amorim emerged as a top target for those at Anfield after it was revealed that current Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso would not be available this summer.

According to Sky Deutschland, Amorim has verbally agreed to a three-year contract with Liverpool. That paperwork is ready for him to sign on Merseyside, with final talks between the Premier League giants and Sporting said to be underway.

Liverpool appear to have won the race for Amorim’s services, as they bid farewell to German coach Klopp. He will leave the Reds in the summer after nearly nine years in charge, with Amorim potentially inheriting a Premier League title-winning squad.
