Major boost for Arsenal as another Newcastle player is ruled out of their Premier League clash

Prior to their Premier League match against Arsenal on Tuesday night, Newcastle has suffered a further injury setback as another player has been added to their injured list.

The match between the Magpies and Mikel Arteta’s team, who are presently leading the league by seven points, will take place at the Emirates Stadium. The Magpies are now in third place.

On Boxing Day, when Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak were both out injured, they only had Chris Wood, a healthy striker, available to them as they trounced Leicester 3-0.

For the weekend match against Leeds, Wilson was back in the lineup, while Isak is still out due to injury.

After the World Cup break, Paul Dummett, Emil Krafth, and Jonjo Shelvey have also been missing; Dummett had previously been dealing with a calf issue.

Howe clarified: “He has been coping with it for a few months, but now it is becoming too hard for him to continue. When I mention a few months, I also take into account the break.”

Shelvey will be out for six to eight weeks, while Isak and Dummett, who are getting closer to returning, are also unavailable for selection.

Prior to the match against Newcastle, Arsenal does not currently have any new injury concerns, but two players in particular may need to exercise caution.
