BEST 5 NBA Predictions, Basketball, 10 November 2022

Boston Celtics vs Detroit Pistons:

BET ON PISTONS +18.5 (1.51).

As the records indicate, most metrics favor the Celtics, but at a double-digit spread, I wouldn’t back them. Boston had a similar roster a season ago and was just 21-28-1 ATS as a home favorite.

They also rank outside the top 10 in turnover rate and offensive rebounding rate, so extra opportunities may limit their ability to keep a lead extended. The Pistons defense also isn’t as bad as most other parts of their team, sitting 24th in defensive rebounding rate.

San Antonio Spurs vs Memphis Grizzlies:

BET ON GRIZZLIES TO WIN (1.50)

This is where I’m going in this game as Memphis is looking to bounce back following a narrow loss to Boston. The Spurs are looking like a team that is hoping to land Victor Wembanyama in next year’s NBA draft after a surprisingly strong start to the season. The Grizzlies are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings with the Spurs.

Los Angeles Clippers vs Los Angeles Lakers:

BET ON UNDER 225.5 (1.55).

The Under is 5-1 in the Clippers’ last 6 games and 11-5-2 in the last 18 head-to-head meetings. The Clippers’ offense should regress toward the mean after an upset win. Expect a low-scoring game.

Atlanta Hawks vs Utah Jazz:

BET ON OVER 220.5 (1.43).

These teams rank No. 1 (Jazz) and No. 2 (Hawks) in offensive rating. With G Jordan Clarkson scoring at a high level and Young also a microwave-type scorer, there will be a lot of difficult shot-making abilities on display.

While neither team necessarily plays at a high pace, the Jazz do sit 5th in offensive rebounding, and the Hawks have the league’s lowest turnover rate, both of which help to get more shots up and points scored.

Indiana Pacers vs Denver Nuggets:

BET ON OVER 229.5 (1.51)

This is a fun wager in this game because who doesn’t like high-scoring contests? The Nuggets and the Pacers are top 7 in offensive rating this season, so points should be aplenty Wednesday.

The Over is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings between the Nuggets and the Pacers in Indiana. The Over is also 10-4 in the last 14 meetings overall.
